St. Louis Altenheim is governed by a local Board of Directors. Residents are provided a full range of services, from independent living to supportive care to nursing care. By offering all levels of care and the flexibility for each resident to be at the appropriate level of care, at the correct time, means individuals can remain within the Altenheim family even as their needs change, without any compromise to their care and comfort.

Our continuum of care and services assures stability and familiarity for residents and their families. By avoiding the anxiety of searching for a new home at a later time of possible increasing concerns, our residents have the comfort of knowing all their needs can be met at one community.

At St. Louis Altenheim, Independent Living means lovely surroundings, activity-filled days, a complete list of amenities, spacious, light-filled rooms, and the comfort that comes with a full continuum of care.

Residents are provided a private bedroom and bath, three meals per day with table service in our beautiful dining room overlooking the historical bluffs, light assistance in daily living such as help with housekeeping and laundry. The extra help enables our residents to maintain an active and vibrant lifestyle.

For our residents who drive, we provide a reserved parking space for their vehicle.

Before moving to the Altenheim, our skilled and caring professionals will assess the needs of a resident to determine the appropriate level of care. Assessing the needs of a resident allows our skilled professionals to meet the individualized needs of each resident.

We’re Here to Help

St. Louis Altenheim provides Supported Living for our residents who need assistance with some activities such as dressing, bathing, medication management, meals, laundry and housekeeping. Our residents enjoy a private bedroom and bath, three delicious meals per day, personalized assistance and care.

The Altenheim offers the comfort and convenience of home in a secure setting. The variety of weekly activities will assure that each resident is provided an opportunity for socialization and fun.

The Altenheim is a truly pleasurable experience and one full of choices. These include dining with friends, family, guests or neighbors in our beautifully appointed dining room, or hosting parties for friends and family members. There are intimate dining rooms conveniently located near residents’ rooms so everyone can enjoy delicious well-balanced meals.

Residents can select from a variety of healthy menus, including a featured entrée, a choice of salads, or meals designed for special health needs. Holiday, theme and birthday celebrations add variety and joy to the communal spirit at the Altenheim.

Wellness programs, including exercise, music and lectures on current health topics are all part of promoting personal growth.

The personal care support staff at Bavaria Memory Care provides a quiet, home-like environment for our residents. Our team endeavors to understand each person to provide a peaceful living environment in which our residents can thrive.

Our consistent staffing allows for the increased time to provide calm encouragement and slower moving actions. The staff at Bavaria Memory Care focuses on a resident-centered approach to identify each resident’s personal lifestyle choices and build a strong, supportive relationship with each resident.

Our Life Enrichment Program provides a customizable, personal care plan to each resident. We offer a wide variety of outings and group activities seven days per week to create meaningful connections within the community.

Activities are specially designed around a resident’s past lifestyle choices so residents may reconnect with their memories. We focus on expressive arts and normal daily home activities to develop appropriate, stimulating engagements for each resident.  Family members and friends are always welcomed into our community and encouraged to help keep our resident’s stimulated and engaged.

Safe, Secure Environment

Bavaria Memory Care is consistent with Boutique Senior Living at the St. Louis Altenheim, but is designed specifically to cater to the needs of those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The spacious dining room at Bavaria Memory Care features family style dining to encourage residents to gather together at mealtimes, although all styles of dining are available to support an individual’s preferred way to dine.

Your Home Away From Home

St. Louis Altenheim offers respite care to give older adults a special place to stay while a caregiver is away for any reason such as a holiday or business trip. This temporary stay may be just what your loved one needs if he/she wants to become more involved in social activities, keep company with others who share interests or to enjoy daily meals with friends. A change of scenery is a nice break for an older person as well as the caregiver and also provides an opportunity to “try” the Altenheim before making a move-in decision.

Guests can also stay at the Altenheim while recovering from an illness or surgery. Here, they are assured of a home-like atmosphere and around-the-clock care. And, when the unexpected happens, we can arrange for quick admissions as well.
